How can the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System be used?

There are three basic ways in which the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System  helps women and couples to appreciate and care for their procreative and gynecologic health.

The Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System can be used to:

1. Assist couples who wish to avoid pregnancy (96.8% – 99.5% effective)

2. Assist couples who wish to achieve pregnancy.

3. Monitor and evaluate gynecological health in conjunction with NaProTECHNOLOGY®.

How do I learn the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System?

The first step in learning the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System (CrMS) is to attend the CrMS Introductory Session presented by a certified FertilityCare™ Practitioner (or Practitioner Intern).

Learning the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System consists of:

  • Attending the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System Introductory Session.  This session is offered virtually and is a one-on-one meeting between the practitioner and the woman/couple.
  • Scheduling your First CrMS Follow-up Session with a certified FertilityCare™ Practitioner. The standard recommendation is to schedule the first follow-up session two weeks out from the introductory session.
  • Receive an Introductory Packet to the first CrMS Follow-up Session. This packet includes a chart, stamps, introductory manual, and other misc. handouts. This packet will be shipped to you immediately following the introductory session.
  • Making observations and recording them according to the CrMS Basic Instructions.
  • Attending each of the recommended CrMS Follow-up Sessions with your FertilityCare™ Practitioner.

(Information on dates and times of the CrMS Introductory Session can be found by clicking here.)

Truly learning and implementing the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System takes place through the normal course of eight CrMS Follow-up Sessions in the first year of charting.  During these private one-on-one (one practitioner to one couple/woman) CrMS Follow-up Sessions, your FertilityCare™ Practitioner will advance your specific instructions  and provide standardized assessment and advanced instruction on the CrMS.  Attending all of the recommended CrMS Follow-up Sessions will ensure that you confidently and effectively learn and use the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System. If the woman becomes pregnant or chooses to discontinue the system, then the follow-up session schedule will be paused.

How often would I meet with my CrMS FertilityCare™ Practitioner?

After attending the CrMS Introductory Session, there are five CrMS Follow-up Sessions in the first three months and three more over the next nine months. You will meet with your practitioner every 2 weeks for the first two months, and then follow-ups are spaced out more afterwards, to once every month and then every 3 months. After these initial eight CrMS Follow-up Sessions, the client and practitioner will meet every 6 to 12 months, depending on the needs of the client. More information on the CrMS Follow-up Sessions can be found here.
