How effective is the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System for couples using it to avoid pregnancy?

For couples who want to use this system to avoid a pregnancy, the perfect use effectiveness rate is between 96.8% (typical use) and 99.5% (perfect use) effective. These findings were published by TW Hilgers and JB Stanford in J Reprod Med. 1998 Jun; 43(6):495-502.

All peer-reviewed studies done on the effectiveness of the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System involve couples who learned the system from a FertilityCare™ Practitioner, attended all of the 8 recommended CrMS Follow-up Sessions, and continued to use the system according to the instructions of the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System.

The Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System is more effective for avoiding pregnancy in typical use than oral hormonal contraception, i.e. “the pill”. Use effectiveness for oral hormonal contraception is 91% according to the CDC. Comparing this with the use effectiveness rate of the CrMS at 96.8%, the CrMS has been shown to be more than effective than oral hormonal contraception when used to avoid pregnancy.
